Why you can trust AuthentiChip

AuthentiChip NFC chips use unique signed URLs generated each time the chip is scanned. The AuthentiChip system embeds product information into the URL signature verification process provided by the VivoKey Verify API. Once validated, a public‑key signed secure web token (JWT) containing the embedded product data and scan event information is sent with the customer to your web server.

You can ensure that

Security checks your server performs:

  • Signature: Verify the JWT using VivoKey’s published JWKS

  • Time window: Enforce iat and exp (reject expired or future tokens)

  • Developer ID: dev_id matches AuthentiChip’s dev_id

  • Audience binding: aud matches product URL on your website

You can now trust the extended scan and product JSON data embedded in the cld claim;

  • productId: Product ID from AuthentiChip product database.

  • productName: Short product name, e.g. Mont Blanc Meisterstück Classique or Air Jordan 1.

  • linkDate: The date the AuthentiChip was linked with the unique product.
  • serial: If provided during product linking, the product serial number will be available.
  • sku: The SKU of the product line.
  • upc: If provided during product linking, the UPC code will be available.
